Not quite as advertised

First the good: it is not super easy to find a 16" wok, and we needed one of that size. This one fits the bill. It is very decent construction, with the handle being securely attached to the wok. For its size it is not super heavy and cooks well from what we can tell in the few weeks we have had it.
Now the disappointing: This wok is advertised as hand hammered. That may technically be true as there are clearly some hammer marks. But underneath them it is extremely clear the carbon steel was machine pressed in shape and then just hammered on top to give it the 'look' of an actually hand hammered wok. You can see the concentric rings from the pressing the whole way through the wok. When I read that the wok I am looking at is 'hand hammered' I expect that means is is made by a blacksmith with a hammer from start to finish, especially when nothing anywhere is mentioned about machine manufacturing. If I wanted a machine pressed wok I would have bought one elsewhere for $30 cheaper and had the same cooking experience.
So if you keep in mind you are not getting a fully hand hammered wok, but instead a hand hammered finished wok and are willing to pay this much for it, get this one, it works well for what it is, it is just not what I expected from the product description.

Large Wok

Very large home wok. Well made, seasoned easily. Haven’t had chance to cook with it yet. Make sure you have a burner that puts out enough heat
